LEARN ABOUT SEFRAS
We are a humanitarian organization that fights every day against hunger, violations of rights and for the economic and social insertion of extremely vulnerable populations: homeless people, immigrants and refugees, poor children and adolescents, the elderly alone and people afflicted with Hansen's disease.
Guided by the Franciscan values of Welcoming, Caring and Defending, we operate throughout Brazil helping more than 4,000 people every day. These are daily services that promote healthy eating, personal care, social and legal support for homeless people, welcoming and social inclusion of immigrants, after school hours for children and adolescents, early childhood care, family strengthening, coexistence and protection of the elderly, in addition to actions to defend rights and improve public policies regarding the groups mentioned.
SEFRAS also works on national and international fronts, in the articulation and protection of defenders of socio-environmental rights in the Brazilian Amazon, in the promotion of decent work in Brazil and in the dialogue for the multidimensional crisis (ecological, climate, financial, political and social) with sectors of Latin American and African civil society.
